although i've had my eheim's for only a few months i must say that they are the best filters out there. i have not had the pleasure of using fluvals, but from what i have heard they are really easy to use, but not to say that the eheim's aren't as easy i cant say. i really love how quiet they are and how fast they filter out my 125gal tank. also they give you a lot of options of filtration to use in their filters. btw i have 2 eheim 2217 classic's running my 125gal tank.

Search is your friend, In case you havent read this......http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68458

I have each of these on my 240 with 2 ac110's. and havent ahd any problems.
I also have a eheim pro2 2028 with bio only and 2 ac110's on my 120 wide n issues with either and the 120 has been up and running for years.....
IMO all of the top name canisters are going to be decent, its just all preference. I like the eheims because they can hold the most media, but i also like the fx5 for the flow rate. Thats why i use eheims for bio and fx5 for mech and chem....
whatever decision oyu decide to make wont be a bad one....
