*SIGH...* no camera but Im getting one very soon :( so I can share pics you can get a good idea of my setup at this thread http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30769

but for a quickie it I have a 280 galloner with a ehiem 2260 a Rena XP3 and an aquaclear 500 (still contemplating to keep it or not) with a little over dozen cichlids and 2 tire tracks and a turt that is quite tolerant of fish he can not catch ;)

A turtle? 0_o you do have land right? What kind? :D

yup he has zoo med basking site with fencing to keep him from falling over the tank since the tank is full to the top he actually spends about 75% of his time basking and rests there all night he only dives in when he sees me passing by begging for food hes quite the trooper Ive had him for almost 18 years now and he is still going strong (vet says hes got a good 75 more years to go) hes a red eared slider male about 7 inches long hes very mellow and my interest in odd ball fish started due to him mainly because most oddballs can coexist with turts quite well especially eels and bichirs they dont seem apitizing to him and cichlids are to fast for turts to catch at least not the stupid ones well wish me luck as the score goes ive lost more fish due to cichlids than my turtle (cichlids 4 turtle) I didnt want to mention I had a turtle in there I was afriad I would get flamed but I noticed that most of you guys keeps monsters with other fish so i would think a turtle would be no different so I got my bravery up and mentioned him in this post I hope to get a camera soon to share pics

Cool. You are one of the few people to propery keep one in an aquarium. :)

sweet..sounds good....i was thinking about adding a baby painted turtle w/ my stingray but i'm not too sure how well that would go....the turtle is small about the 2 inches...anyways good luck w/ your new setup!

Congrats, great find. Now you are no eel seeker any more:grinno: With 280g there is probably no risk putting two fire eels together.
