sweet..sounds good....i was thinking about adding a baby painted turtle w/ my stingray but i'm not too sure how well that would go....the turtle is small about the 2 inches...anyways good luck w/ your new setup!

yeah I wouldnt do it either I dont know stingrays they sound like powerful fish but they also seem delicate this is my list of no no's just my opinioun though...
1. no puffers those teeth can crunch clam shells why should a turt shell be different? tiny puffers are easy targets...
2. rays seem to delicate to be kept with turts and rays carry a nasty sting too...
3. large preditory fish wolf fish or snake heads odds it could lead to a heart breaking end
4. electric eels electric cat fishes come on do the math :(
there are others I cant think of right now
most importantly turtles need lots of room and if you are gonna have tank mates a large aquarium (150 and up) is essential and they need filtration 3 time stronger than a fish would

Congrats, great find. Now you are no eel seeker any more With 280g there is probably no risk putting two fire eels together.

well I dont know about that my next conquest is saltwater after I do alot of research (saltwater is a new frontier for me) at any rate my next goal is to own a 200 gallon saltwater tank for a coral reef and a snowflake eel so Im still a eel seeker :D
and I still want to learn a bunch of stuff about spiny eels like the tire track and fire anyone know any good books dedicated to them entirely  I hope I wont have problems amongst the eels either later in the future

Well I have tried feeding these guys bloodworms and I see they mannage to a get a few of them before the cichlids pick the tank clean but my question is are they getting enough? my to larger tire tracks (11" about that size range) dine on 3 large nightcrawlers almost every day.... these guys are a tad to small for nightcrawlers anyone else know other stuff these guys go crazy for I already tried krill they seemed to nibble on it but they didnt take it :( hhmmm what else should I try my next plan is to dice up some nightcrawler (eeeewwwww!!!!!) ;)

Congrats :)

well so much for feeding chopped up worms....no go..... they shy away from them and the cichlids always stole the meals from them :swear: however this time I went a little over board on the defrosted blood worms and most of them fell to the tank bottom and both fire eels began foraging and I noticed they were eating them good I guess but I want them to eat something that will make them grow quicker......anyone else have any other ideas  what is the difference bewteen prawn and krill and where can I get mussel meat.... ive read here that some have great succes with that.....am I expecting to much from these guys? they are roughly the length of a pencil and slightly thicker than two pencils... are they too small for other foods other than blood worms and blackworms?
