What’s up everyone,

So I’m zeroing in on my stock list for my new 125 g setup and o want the main focus to be the Zebra Chilumba.

I’m looking closely at both the Maison reef and the Luwino reef. Other than the obvious splash of yellow on the fins of the Luwino reef are there any differences I should know about?

The online profiles both list the max size at around 7” but the footage Im seeing online of the Maison reef looks like they are much larger/stockier than the Luwino reef. This maybe just coincidence, I’m not sure.

Also the dominant dress color of the Maison reef seems to be overall more whitish but that may not be true either.

Im guessing the differences are probably slim to none but I figured I’d ask before making a decision.

TIA once again!

I don't have experience with the Luwino Reef, but I do keep a male Zebra Chilumba, Maison Reef. He's my best Mbuna, 4.5 inches and dominates the tank. His color ranges from white with black stripes, to different shades of blue, depending on mood.
The Zebra Chilumba is one tough hombre. He attacks the siphon during WC's. Great fish to keep.

Thanks for the input ? I’m actually in Africa right now on a vaca but when I get back I’ll be setting up the 125 so want to do some research and be ready to rock with my stock list when I get back.

anyone else with any experience with these guys?
