is that with any eel or just the zebra?

it'd be close to or more than that (a 6 foot tesselata eel's obviously more waste than a 2 foot snowflake)
flowflakes and chains are about the same as the zebra
but things like melagrus eels (9'') would be like <1 oscar

as for powerheads i would have at LEAST 2 BIG ones at each end

yeah i plan on that to kick up most of the waste...and plan on a water change every week or every two when i do my reef...someone please hit up marine products diy and check my post about it because i got a skimmer for it and i wanna no if that will hold me off till i get the money to buy another

While certain animals do use diff amounts and types of nutrients from there food size alone doesnt have much to do with the amount of waste. How much food is going into the system is a better way to compare.

well in all fairness i did say it was a big, MESSY fish.. they don't chew so if you give them something too big they'll rip off a piece good enough.. most fo teh scraps wil go un-noticed by the eel.. as will foodstuffs that are too small...

having a few other fish there to help clean up work a little.. but you're realling looking at great filtration and maintainence for long term success

so crushed coral would be a good idea for a substrate so i no i syphon out as much waste as possible..right? cus obviously if i used sand the sand will syphon out

well sand in marine terms usually isn't like FW sand.. aragonite 'sand' is much heavier than say playsand.. they grain size is like 2-3 mm plenty big to not get scooped up... if you're paying attention anyway :D

crushed coral isn't really good especially for pred tanks as the large grain size traps alot of debris...

and i absolutely LOVE oolitic sand.. look into that...

great i just orderd about 120lbs of cc lol the owner of the fish store i go to im really good friends with he suggested the cc so i can syphon the waste out easier i really dont know how fine the cc is...maybe order a another bag of sand to throw on top of that? its not like he was tryn to get some $ outa me because it is the same price as the sand he just suggested it
