Really?? Like stated earlier never seen the price on these guys go below $125ea. Where can I get some .5" zebras for $75?? If I ever seen them at that price I'd buy all the seller had.

Share the where! The best I ever got 2 years ago was 100$ a piece

At odd times here you'll see guys offering .5" fry for sale at $75 each majority of the time .75"-1" go for $100-120 each

Again, it is in a high end retail store.... so if you see a breeder on MFK sellin them for 100-120 what do you think the store is paying...lol

Less than we would to that breeder.

I didn't mean here as in MFK I meant where I live in Toronto/Ontario

LFS here were selling adults cheaper than this store who wants $300 for fry

Well I can not speak for the price in Canada, but since it is not a widely commercially bred fish, stores need to rely on the same breeders we find on forums and other aquatic comunities as they are not availbale from there importer/wholsalers. And the general mark up at a lfs is 2 to3 x what they pay on livestock. The availabilty of Zebras on the east coast USA is very low and prices tend to be inflated in general in the greater NYC area on everything. Add this with the fact that Zebras are notorius slow growers and lay low numbers of eggs at a time will keep the price high until they are regularly commercially bred.

That being said... I will buy any available at 75$.

$75..be careful, they might snubnose deforms..$110 to $125 is normal for wholesale for zebs that size. Don't pay $300 for .5 inchers..ripoff...I would pay $300 for a .5incher if you could promise me it's a female..that I would do all day long if you could sex them at that stage

That seems quite expensive the cheapest i've saw were 1.5 inchers for 150 bucks PLUS an addition 25% off.

They are banned from export though so location varies.

a number of 2males with 4females is ideal, but def not needed
