For a 2" sub adult $200 is a VERY fair price. Like the others said finding a adult breeding pair for sale is going to be close to impossible. Your best bet is to start with a group of 5-7 growouts, which won't be cheap.

$200 for a sub adult would be killer, but that is a long wait for the breeder, and more tanks. The words cheap, zebra and pleco will rarely be seen in the same sentence, doesn't really matter what size.

Trying to get rich on h. zebra? I have to say--not only is that a horrible idea, it also makes you one of the least favorable aquarists TO sell the zebs to.

I agree, for something so easy to breed, they still move fast.

Have you bred plecos before, or is this a get-rich-quick scheme? If you've bred before, try ancistrus dolichopterus, or L134 leopard frog plecos.
