Picked up one of these a few weeks back

im amazed and would love to see anyone else keeping them

Lets see um

Here’s my little guy

I’m struggling to get him to eat, I’ve offered everything possible and I’m yet to see him eat

I’ve had him just over 3 weeks

He’s a handsome bloke mate.
Have you tried live earthworms? At least they can live in the tank for several hours without any affect of your water quality 🤗

I spoke to the shop i got him from today and they told me that they got him feeding at first on Stendker Beef heart ( he was in with discus ), i went to the shop and got a pack so I'm going to try that tonight and hopefully that gets him eating something then i can try the prawns and mussel again

You only need to be warry of toxins in your garden if you use them/spray your plants. And you can also go to a local forest to collect them.
Uh good, no i don't use anything apart from water in my garden

Ill be keeping my eye out for some now as we are getting a bit of rain so they will be coming out

and thank you

FINALLY

The beef heart worked

Messy stuff tho 😂

Now hopefully I can get him eating other stuff, I sat in front of him while he ate it so hopefully he knows that hand that feeds him now 😜

Great news mate. It’s always stressful when a newbie won’t eat.
You could start pressing the pellets you wanna train it on into the beef heart once it’s defrosted. Decrease the amount of beef heart & increase the pellet load so it get used to the taste & texture. The large fluval bug bite pellets would be a good protein rich pellets to try 🤙🏼

I was starting to get a little worried as it would have been 4 weeks this coming Tuesday since I got him so I’m super happy now

Thanks for the tip, I have got the Hikari Massivore Delite but I’ve always been a fan of the bugbites so I’ll invest in some of them

Thanks again mate
