Had the fish for 7 days in a 90g tank.

Since the first day i got him he has been rubbing his sides against the bottom of the tank at random intervals throughout the day. Probably does it 5-10 times a day.

Water parameters are 100% in check. Fish is eating normally and generally acting normal.

Not owned this species before, is it normal behavior? I know that this usually points to irritation but i don't get what could cause it as the water is perfect.

No white spots or anything visible.

in my limited experience, healthy fish in clean tanks behaving oddly has always been indicative of some sort of breeding behavior. possibly trying to mate with its own reflection. don't laugh i have severums that do this.
