Like Crenicichla444 said it's best to vent to be sure but at larger sizes 10 inches plus the female develops a red belly. Here's a guide to venting them I sourced and I put up a little while back. In the pic you can see the visual red belly on the female as well as the vent differences.

I don't know how much he got them for but Snookn21 has them at 12 inches + for $650 and Wetspot has them at 8 inches for $400 and Jeff Rapps has them at 9-11 inches for $550 so they are coming down. It may even be worth it to wait awhile more before getting them because I have a feeling they may becoming more readily available seeing as so many vendors got their hands on them this year.
 
$400 bucks but since I brought 4 I got a little better deal. Yes prices will come down eventually. Anything over $500 I wouldn't pay but I think people got 10-11" ones for that type of price.

Aquascape has lents 10-11 inches for $225 and Snookn21 has the Actirostris you mentioned. He hasn't put them on Aquabid yet but they're on his site, no exact size but marked as Xlg for $175 each.
