lol , Happy Belated Bday!

Still invincible here ! The more beer the more invincible too :) I am gonna be down around thanksgiving if the lights not done by then :nilly: Maybe we could finish it in the shop.

Are those 100 led's that only draw 7 watts worthless? Something like .07watts per bulb no?

The measurement is usually not exact with LED's. Its just a rating because of power conversion. The LED's themselves dont run on AC power, they run on 24v DC. Therefore, if the whole string uses 7w of 120v AC total, the transformer could be sending out much more DC. This is not 100% accurate & doesn't account for any resistance or transformic losses, but just as a ballpark example of the concept:
120v divided by 24v=5
7w times 5=35w
35w divided by 100 LED's=0.35w/LED

This would be about right for quarter-watt rated LED's. In my concert lighting experience, I've seen LED's up to 5w each (a moving head fixture packed with 96 5w LED's is hammer-of-god bright!), but you are highly unlikely to find large LED's in x-mas lights. If you did, they would be crazy expensive.

Not too sure if the average 'joe' shopping at WalMart for Holiday lighting, could even wrap his head around electrical mathmatics, or even care...

but

I say, go check out both types of "white" LEDs, for yourself.
Cleverly, they are packaged as 'Warm White' and "COOL White"

"Cool White" is white white bright. Like New Model halogen headlights.
and
"Warm White" has a bit of Red, in it. Like Old School headlights.

Here are a few Updates:
Framed out the hood, installed center brace.

Nicely done! For some reason I thought you were doing blue moonlights... You should get some killer beams & effects through the water with that many white sources.

zenn I hate you and this thread, now you got me going to stores and checking out the LED xmas lights. Soon I will be doing what ur doing :irked:

So what does it look like on the tank? Inquiring minds want to know.
