Been trying to find info, but even when I google Zig Zag Eel and click a link it pops up with a Fire Eel or Tire Track Eel.

For my cichilds I use a variety - flake, pellet, frozen brine shrimp and frozen blood worms.

What should I be feeding him as a staple food? I do have a bait shop that's just down the road from me if there's something in there I should be using.

I just got him tonight and trying some frozen blood worms, don't expect him to eat cause he's a newbie in the tank, but I can go out tomorrow and get him whatever I should be feeding him as a staple.

Besides just cleaning them off, should I be doing anything special? Stupid question I know, I mean do I just put them in the tank with him (as I highly doubt he'll eat them from my hand right off the bat)?

What about live brine shrimp or ghost shrimp?

So I do I just put whole live earthworms in the tank after I clean em?

And for a new guy, he sure is out and about checking out his new tank.

Oh and one of his spots that he seems to like...he hasn't been in the PVC pipe yet...yet.

my zig zags arer always out and moving, they are almost never in the shadows unless they are being lazy and laying in the plants, but my eels are quite small and eat flakes, shrimp pellets, and other pellets that they can get scraps from

Since he's a new comer and therefore hiding a bit, how do I make sure he gets some food? Anything I leave in the tank will be eaten up by the other fish and I don't think he's eaten since I got him (on Wednesday).

Bloodworms, earthworms, shrimp, or krill would all be fine as staple foods. The only issue with earthworms is the possibility of exposure to pesticides.
