Update.

I turned off the light and tried feeding him but i couldn't find him. When this happens should i look for him and make him come out ( gently) or just leave him be and feed him another time? he was burrowed under the gravel.
i would try and go to him. that what i do when i feed my eel. GL

what else is in the tank? what are your water quality perameters?
what type of gravel/substrate are you useing?
any recent changes to the tank? deco moved? water change made? ect?

There could be many things that can cause fish to go off food, but with the newness of the fish I would post stress on this. I wouldn't dig him out if he's hiding, offer him more hiding spots instead if possible. and I agree. about 1 hour after you turn the lights out for the night is the best time to feed most spiney eels. Make sure a tank-mate isn't harassing him, and check for any signs of illness.

I did a water change like about 3 days ago. But before that he messed up some of the deco and i had to rearrange them. I don't think anything is harassing him, i have about 6 guppy's, one kuhli loach, 4 rummy red noses, and about 4 ghost shrimp. Would you think any of these are?

Click "FORUMS" @ the top of the page, scroll down until you see the subforum that your question is related to, click the subforum, then look for a little box that says "new thread", and click it, then type your Q, give it a title, and click "submit new thread". btw, welcome to MFK. :)

I think the most likely cause is just the transition into the new tank (assuming yours params. are okay and there are no signs of illness, like MonsterMinis said). And no, I doubt any of your other fish would/could cause any problems.

No i don't see signs of illness, that i know of. Might i be miss checking one illness that i missed? What others are there?

If anything you're potential to lose everything to the zig zag is a potential.. particularly the shrimp and kulie. But I would doubt they are harassing him. given you have shrimp in the tank, which I assume are doing fine. I'm going to assume your water is spot on.

the biggest signs of illness is an almost haze of milky white over their bodies, being scaleless they tend to be prone to bacterial/fungal infections due to rubbing from deco, sharp gravel ect. anything in the tank thats potentially capable of cutting your fish up should be removed as a precaution.

my advise is to leave him be, let him settle in atm, and continue to try and get him to eat, w/out stressing him out. It's not uncommon for them to fast on occasion. and they are a particularly reclusive species ime. there are always exceptions to the rule. but in general expect him to hide most of the time. Things may change in the future but spineys tend to be very shy until they are comfortable. something may have spooked him.

Update. Hes doing fine, mostly in his pipe i want to get him a bigger pipe. The one he has now only fits him only as in he cant curl in it or what ever. But i don't want to change the deco(his pipe) so then he doesn't get use to it and it takes longer for him to adjust to another deco. Imo

I'm going to feed him tonight.

ill turn off all the lights and maybe have a dim light on on the side away from the tank so i can see him, and drop the food next to him and turn off the dim light and leave him be. Hopefully he eats!

Oh also, how often should feed him? Every other Day?
