Zilch's Fish-Kids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lol I laughed at the PBB pic caption. (also look at the ornate creeping in the background of the first pic.hehe) Do you think it's still getting used to everybody? Seems like a lot of members on here are taking a while to color up.

Laps look great! They are cute little rescue pups. The pic with the albino is pretty heartwarming. Not even gonna lie.
Yeah sometimes it takes a while for a poly to totally adjust to a new place. First few days the PBB was black and was deep breathing a lot. Now breathing is normal and all the black sort of went away. I've seen the PBB participating in poly pileups so it seems to be adjusting pretty well.

The ornate is always creeping, and always at the top of the poly pile. Ornates are just interesting fish... The bigger ornate spent the better part of a year hiding behind the filter return, keeping away from all the riff Raff below, now it's down in the thick of it dominating the pile :)

I got both of them locally but the lfs I got them from orders mostly from Segrest so that is a likely point of origin. Then again I live in FL so the gar probably could have come from pretty much anywhere:eek:

I need to move. Lol

I need to stock up on polys before I get any gars or lungfish but they are on my wishlist currently!

By the way your tank looks awesome. I have some geos mixed in with mine as well. Seems that we have similar taste in stocking fish lol.

Haha my wife and I always joke that we need to move somewhere we can have a basement so I can go wall to wall fish... Water table is too high in FL to get away with any subterranean construction :(

Thanks though! The geos are cool but I feel like the flagtail is outperforming both of them when it comes to cleaning... Like it even snatches fish pulp out of the water at feeding time. Not a spot of algae anywhere and pellet mess gets eliminated almost instantly...I really hope he doesn't develop a taste for slime coat because that fish does work!

And you know what they say about great minds! ;)

Thanks! Flagtails really are very attractive fish, and their temperament is great. Here's hoping both our flagtails stick to algae and scraps!

He could but not many people want them. I hear that they cost $1500 now.

Well it looks like there's at least some breeding operations going on again if the super secret 2" AUL thread in the lungfish is any indication. Hopefully they've got them breeding reliably enough that costs might come down. It would be great if they'd get back into the US market, and seeing them readily bred would be incredible from a conservation standpoint
