28 days and weeks or whatever were 2 of the best dry no bs zombie movies I ever saw. The eye gouging was stupid to me but whatever. Is thier any other movies like those 2 that even compare at all or no way. Please give me some good news. Also never heard of the Z one you mentioned.

Dawn of the Dead (remake) for fast zombies this is it in my opinion
REC. ok movie
World War Z is a book, talks about some aspects not normally addressed with zombies. Gives view points of survivers from all around the world. The zombie book market is booming now adays there are a ton of books I have on my amazon wishlist and have yet to read.

The fast zombies scare the **** out of me much more than the slow ones. While the slow ones are more realistic given some of the origin premises I understand why alot of people find them more believable. I just fail to see the extreme threat of the slow zombies vs the fast ones, especially given the availability of firearms and automobiles in our society. Overall , given the horror tradition of zombie movies, I prefer the fast zombies because they're down right frightening.

Thats what I'm saying, fast ones especially for movies are more visually stimulating and truly terrifying when you could really figure yourself ****ing in your pants in that situation. Getting away would take alot of luck and some skills as well much more so than with the slower kind.

I like the whole World War Z zombie setup, for it seems really plausible. Also the in 28 weeks later they are really just rabid to the extreme also in zombie land. They are still physically human due to not dieing.

Someone else mentioned that as well, I guess I forgot that they didn't die and become reanimated....... Wasn't there scenes were people were killed to become rabid themselves? I have to watch that again, that whole babymaker scene really killed it for me and I never bothered to ever watch either a second time because the plot/ script blew in my opinion.

I could discuss zombies for hours! But I'll refrain. I actually like them both, fast and slow. In my opinion there are no bad zombie movies (once you become a b movie fanatic, theres no going back). I read a rumor on io9.com that there is a zombie television show in the works based off of romeros work, and to settle the question for them, they are going to have fresh zombies (recently turned) able to move quickly, and decomposed zombies shamble. Makes sense to me, the more muscle/tendon/flesh/limbs/etc are missing, the slower they'll go.

I could accept that, and no need to refrain, I've seldom am able to have an intelligent zombie conversation with fellow enthusists :)

Just because you can jog away from them doesn't mean they can't get you they swarm you and eventually you hide somewhere where they will eventually get in. Like in Night of the Living Dead. They could easily run from the zombies but there was just too many of them and eventually no one in the house survived.

Wow, I thought it was a pretty freakin sweet movie. The fact, again, as I already stated, I could just merely jog away from my zombie pursuers????? In my opinion the remake of dawn of the dead is probably the best/ most terrifying zombie movie. REC had some fast zombies as well. 28 days/ weeks later could have been good with a better plot/ script.

Diary of the Dead was a good movie, but I'm not remembering walking away terrified, or with a complete sense of hopelessness as I did with Dawn to Dead.

Many books give explanations as to why zombies last longer than a few days weeks. The Zombie Survival Guide, Armageddon Day by Day, .... can't remember if Worls War Z gave any info on that subject.

There has to be some type of preservation from the virus/ us nuking them ect otherwise you would have a total stiff body in 48 hrs. They wouldn't be walking ... period, lock jaw would give them problems with the whole biting issue.

Speaking of biting I would think being eaten alive by humans would be one of the worst ways to go considering our jaw and teeth.

I have often wondered if a broken neck or broken back would make a zombie slower or a broken leg at the knee?

I know they don't feel pain, yet, shouldn't the basic mechanics of the human body still apply ie)tendons and such?

I agree, with this logic there should be fast, slow, medium, body draggers ect.. Getting down to the nitty gritty withoust blood circulation I'm not sure how much movement you could really have, and also if you take into account rigamortus ????? There has to be some flexibility

That is the one thing that is a must, the chances of survival are very minimal to nill, really being nill. You may survive for the time being but containment does not mean another outbreak couldn't happen and wipe out everything. To be honest Night of the Living Dead (original) was far from my first zombie movie, I know its a classic but I got used to better make-up and special effects before watching it evn if the movies were completely cheesy. If I had been around when it first came out (not saying you were) I'm sure for sentimental reasons I would retain it as my favorite, I am thankful for the switch over of zombies being created by a contagious viral disease instead of vodoo magic

28 Days/Weeks Later is NOT a zombie movie. They are infected with the Rage virus. They can die by just shooting them a lot not in the head like zombies. Zombies cannot run, they are dead tissue and the only thing that is alive is the brain, so rigamortus(sp?) still sets in and makes it harder for them to move. Romero is a god amongst zombie directors. I can go on and on about zombies I am what you would call a zombie purist. The remake of Dawn of the Dead was just bad.

here

it is not affecting after they start to rot

honestly the downfall in every movie is that the living can not turn off their core humanity and eventually they slip and fall.

I do like the movie I am legend, although not zombie they are nasty

touche! i would add this to my sig but there is no way i could show why this is so funny to me

just remember guys, swords dont need reloaded;)

especially now that that thread disappeared

I don't know if I could decapitate someone (strength wise). I oftened wondered how effective a head shot would be, some people live from head shot wounds.

depends on range and caliber. Personally I would try to get a shotgun.

that is the sucky thing about if zombies were to come to pass what do you do when you need to reload or you run out of ammo. True that close quarter weapons need not be reloaded, but all it takes is one bite and it's over.

really as a chef I have a good start with weaponry

Personal weapons of choice are my meat cleaver and a nice steel pizza scimitar

I would head to my restaurant supply and get geared up there with some other stuff as well.
