I got a free can of the Zoo Med "Can O' Worms" at the ACA convention. I took them home and have been feeding them to my fish (I know this food is meant for reptiles but I couldn't resist). They love it and the mealworms are huge! Is it okay to feed these things as treats to fish? I can get a can for $2.99 and it lasts a while cuz I don't feed it but every so often. Gotta keep it refridgerated after opening though. What about their other "Can O'" products in the link below? I was thinking caterpillars. I already feed them Flukers Freeze Dried crickets.

hmm these are cool! i never seen these before. i dont see any problem with feeding these to fish. i wish they sold them locally. id like to feed my aro one of those jumbo grasshopers! prices arent bad either

no problems with feeding them to fish, its fine,i actually was gona start getting them from my lfs, they sell like a package thing it comes with the grasshoppers, crickets and others

i see petsmart has them on their website. maybe they carry it in the store. im gonna go check!

1.2 ounces? My Oscar could probably eat that whole can in two days, lol. But it looks good. I don't see why it would cause any problems. I use freeze dried krill, shrimp, and crickets all the time in addition to market shrimp and live foods. This can o' stuff looks better than freeze dried.

These things do have moisture in them so they need t be refridgerated. The mealworms are the biggest damn mealworms I have ever seen. I'm used to feeding live mealworms (which you have to keep in the fridge anyway), but these things in the Can O' Worms are much bigger. Every fish I own eats the hell out of them.

and its says 300+ mealworms in the can huh? thats a good deal for $2.99

I feed or have fed most of Zoo Meds canned food, snail, crickets , grasshopers as treats..With large fish those cans are to darn small and when you think about the price per lb? 2.99 x 10.67 = around $32.00 a lb for bugs????:nilly:

Well you get the idea for their main staple I'd look elsewhere:popcorn:

Yeah. I like them as treats though. Maybe once or twice a week tops and not many at a time when I use them.
