I know its been a while since this thread was active, but I found this today just surfing around. They not only found some in the wild, but also in hobbyist hands in tiny numbers. Another forum I am on, also has heard rumblings that they have attempted a couple breeding try's, but have not heard how they turned out.

The story of this species has become a huge success for the Zoological Society of London as the fish are being bred there and in acá anda and now in several zoos in Europe. Some specimens are tentatively being shipped to the US to further spread the species and guarantee long term survival.
