if you need carbon to keep your water clear your doing something wrong

but...wait......your post is about your water being cloudy? Kinda affects your credibility on that statement LOL

My water gets cloudy when I feed zuccini too but its from the little threads of the vegetable pulp and my filters suck it right up,
My guess is that since your pleco wasnt eating/pooping much your filters were not prepared for such a sudden increase in the bioload when you fed him the veggies and he started pooping up a storm. As a result you got a bacterial bloom.
Why do you keep putting off the water change? That is the best thing you can do for immediate results to clear up your water and remedy your situation.
Also, I plan my heavy/messy feedings the day before my water change/tank maintenance. That way I dont have to worry about residual stuff rotting in the tank, filters being extra clogged or cloudy water.
Just my 2 cents.
good luck

:naughty:let me get this straight while you paul is out having "fun" with his carbon money the unytedone will be wishing he hadn't spent money on carbon:naughty:

i'll be enjoying my uncloudy water rather than out with the strippers paul mentioned.:ROFL::ROFL:

up to you if you wanna use carbon or not bud.
but i do things based on experience, not just what ive heard or read.

i wanna make it clear im not bashing on anyone who DOESNT use carbon, i know it can be done, ive done it too with wet dry setups. But as far as HOB type filters go...:drool:

i live in hawaii and i KNOW our water is better than the mainland's water. sooo whatever man.

and that article posted a few posts before is definitely a real good read.
sounds like OP's cloudyness should clear if it hasnt by now within a few days.

thread should be dunnskeez.
