ZZ x BP fry

I thought I'd get more shortbodies too. Then again, I started with 150-200 fry and ended up with 9 or 10 after a mysterious mass death. So maybe I did get more shortbodies than this small sampling of fry is letting on. In these 9 fish, I have 3 parrot-shaped fish, but no shortbodies like the male. I've had 2 decent-sized batches of Carpintis x this same BP and had NO (zero) shortbodies in both batches. I thought for sure that crossing my shortbody flowerhorn with the blood parrot would make for a lot of shortbodied fry. Ah well.

my batch came out with alot of variation. there are some with a good flowerhorn shape some with a long red devil type shape (most likely culls) and some that are a little shorter than the father. most of the fry have the same proportions as the father.

yeah i've only had one parrot looking fry come from all my assorted bp crosses breedings i've done so far. so it looks like you guys luck is better then mine.
