Unfortunately, he died this weekend. Still not sure what was going on, but it hit him hard and he went downhill fast. Idk if there was something going on when I first got him, as I mentioned before he was never quite "right". Everyone else in the tank is still fine and happy. Oh well. I guess you win some and lose some.

sorry to hear : ( some times they just up and croke for no good reason at all,, part of keeping fish.

if you were dealing with hex, you may want to keep a real close eye on your main tank. Its contagious and as you can see it can kill quickly after showing signs. I'd consider medicating the entire tank as well as feeding hex shield which was already mentioned.

i cured hex with maracyn 2, it targets gram negative bacteria with the anti biotic metronidazole. hex is gram negative so other antibiotics wont do much.

That's what I was concerned about. Nothing to worry about yet. Everyone is eating very well, normal poops, and acting fine. I'm still not sure if it was Hex, could've been something completely unrelated. But thanks, will definitely keep an eye on them.
