fish can't see their reflection in the bottom glass.. try looking down from above your tank and there is no reflection

all fish can be trained onto prepared food if you try hard enough. none of the LFS's in the UK i know of use any feeders or sell them.

Sounds like it could work quite well then, I may have to look into that when our 8ft tank currently being used as a growout tank is empty.

We got rid of the shorty recently due to changing our tanks around and the comparatively small adult size of the shortnose would have meant keeping it would have been risking it becoming a feeder. I'd quite like to do a shortnose species tank when i have the space for more good sized tanks, but...

my shortnose was always calm and never as skittish and crazy as i'd heard and expected, i guess it just depends on the personality of each individual fish

lol, the LFS i'm on about is Maidenhead Aquatics in Mere Park garden centre in Newport, Shropshire :) have to agree with the rest of your prices though, Endlis seem to be twice the price this year as they were last year..

those senegals seems a bit high, theyre about £4.50 for about 4-5" at the LFS round here

they have their quiet times but our motoro is generally pretty active

i'd be more worried about the RTC outgrowing the lima and eating it

id say its way overpriced if used, i only paid £235 (about $450 - 500) for a new 96x24x24

I know one person who has always managed to raise his silvers without dropeye. He's been keeping fish for 40 years or so, and is an "old skool" fish keeper, using no medication except salt and no additives such as de-chlor or water conditioner etc.

lol, i know theyre aggressive, just wondered why it was only the ID catfish and not the others he seems to have a problem with

our gator seems to have started a habit of grabbing the 2 ID catfish by the head and shaking them about even though they are too big to eat, but he leaves all the other fish in the tank alone. is there a reason for this or has the gar just taken a disliking to these 2 fish for some reason?
