    All cold water fish do not "live so long". However, you are correct in your statement that a higher metabolic rate will usually lead to a shorter lifespan.

    Yeah, Vallisneria spiralis is from Lake Malawi, but it isn't found in reef areas so I removed it to make the biotope more correct.

    Lighting question

    Singlebright LED fixtures are very weak, output-wise. T5s are much brighter. Just get a Beamswork reef capable LED fixture from aquatraders.
