Yes it's to return the clean water to the bottom to push the dirty water to the top where my overflow is the jets help keep the substrate clean

think of a bunch of spray bars on the bottom of the tank

Yes it does I'm hoping they way I set mine up that I can reduce this as much as possible each jet is going to have the ability to point in a 360 degree area so I can point in corners and point at rocks etc... It would be much easier to vacuum one spot in the tank or even 10 spots then to try and clean the whole tank

My biggest reason for doing the water entering from the bottom oppose to the top is my overflow is at the top also warm water rises so in my head I will have better over turn of dirty water by pushing it up to the overflow insted of pushing clean water from the top to the top idk I will see I'm in no rush to have my tank running so if I have to set it up and redo it I have time

Interesting idea. Nice work. I am setting up an amazon manifold and trying to push the waste to one corner away from the return where I can filter as much as possible separately. We'll see.
I'll be looking to hear how yours works out.

I think it's really referred to as a river manifold - faster current along the bottom with inlets on the bottom at one end and returns just off the bottom on the other. The landscape and residents are "Amazonian".

All my jets are in place 3 of them are going to be 3/4 inch the other 6 are 1/2 reason is the 3/4 inch I can get 5 holes in and the 1/2 inch 3-4 holes also Home Depot was out of the 3/4" to 1/2" elbow....

Next step is to place rocks I'm looking to do two piles of rocks then I will cap and droll my holes once I get an idea of where to direct the water flow

Rocks are in I never liked doing rock work as I'm never happy with the end I tried to keep it simple I did add 2-3 rocks just to take up ground space I made a drawing showing the water flow based on the holes I drilled so next is sand then I can fill it up to cycle
