It happens from time to time. It's a combination of the quality of the build, and the proper stand. If one or the other is poor, POP it goes.

That's what it was going to be. Maybe it is a good thing it burst now, and not later.

Lol there was probably a moment of excitement...no doubt about that.

If this happens to my DIY tank...I will be irritated. To say the least. Measure twice, cut till you get it right guys. :D

When that happens, does the whole pane blow out? Because I thought I saw it looked like when glass breaks.
It usually bows out until it fractures somewhere, then it pretty much explodes. I have seen it happen. It sucks lol.

At least every aquarium store knows this can happen and is more or less prepared for when it does. They had insurance and everything so it's not as bad as if it had happened in a restaurant or something.
