I don't think they will eat their young but you never know i have been raising shellies for some time now but my main occupants in a 55gal is Neolamp Multifasciatus and Neolamp Brevis..

I just setup a new shellie tank tonight with the Neolamp Ocellatus in a current 20gal high that i had been holding some fry in, here are a few photos of my newly obtained Ocellatus from earlier today..

I have 6 total but they are still tiny so i couldn't tell you what sex they are..

I would do just a trio or quad in a 10gallon. They do become very territorial and aggressive. They are easy to raise and breed. I would go with sand as the substrate because they love diggin in them.

Hi everyone! I'll just add my question, as it's quite similar. All the time I read about these great shellies. Recently I got my hands on free 5gal bowl. Could it be a home for maybe pair of multies, as their max size is about 4cm?
