Importing it might be a bit of a problem though... I was thinking of diong that with a fish found here in argentina that soooo easy to catch, but then i gave up on the idea.

I remember Canadian aquatics had one in stock not to long ago. They were asking $3500 as well. Its a cool looking pleco I think.

show me the ticket and i will come. and probably take photos of the deal and post them on mfk. . . 3500 is silly. the blue eye in our shop isnt as big (12-14'') but is more intense and has better markings. i bet if i talkto the store owner i could get uim to bag it up for me for £800 cash.

same with zebra plecs. they now command a £200-300. . . almost extinct in the wild

Actually, I don't think they are particularly rare in the wild, but the Amazon's fish are so little known, and the river is so vast, and Plecos are so crypic, that they are very hard to come by. But soon enough, some breeding facility will breed them and they will become commonplace.

I remember when they were popular in the early 90's. I bought one for $25 canadian and I thought that was expensive LOL

then a few years later, apparently their tributary of the amazon was destroyed/contaminated via construction, and they became very rare. I have not seen one alive in about 15 years.
