The blue eye habitat has been lost due to an oil spill.. so the ones u see for thousands of dollars are the last remaining ones.... im sure theres still a bit in the wild.. just hard to breed..

When I see prices like that it makes me sick that I gave my blue-eyed plecos away before my last navy deployment. I could have paid off my mortgage with the $ that colony could have brought in.

I wouldn't pay $3.50 for a pleco regardless of rarity, nm $3500. That's insane.

Yes, I would pay $3.50 if I knew I'd quickly find a sucker willing to pay $3500. That's the only exception ;P

there is one for sale in wildwoods here in the uk for £1000. i looked and thought about getting it because it was a nice looking fish but then i noticed the price and i felt my heart skip a beat.
