For the ick crank your heater up to 86 gradually (2 degrees per day), and add some salt to the tank, should be gone in a week.

Ok so over yesterday and today i cranked the heater up as far as it would go and the temp is barely 80F. I will get a different thermometer in there just to make sure that it wasn't that. So the ick has spread to all 3 loaches, no sign of it on anyone else, but when i went to feed them, i noticed that the 204's output was a bit slow. I was going through possible problems and when i looked at the intake tube i found this:(see picture). Sadly he is a goner..... Well i found a little intake strainer from an old HOB and popped it on to prevent future deaths. I am thinking of adding a hydro v to the tank for just a bit more added filtration. would that be ok running with a whisper 10-30 as the only thing attached to it? or would it be better to run like 2 hydro 3's? Have the lights off because of the ick and not being able to look at my fish/ ich/ death has made me a bit depressed. Hoping for better days......2011-06-13_14-55-26_329.jpg

Sorry for the disturbing picture, i just ordered a hydro v and have a whisper 10-30 that will be dedicated to it / 2 air-stones (ok?). Temp is up to about 82 and i did a 5 gal w/c. Also ordered an Eheim autofeeder. the standard one, look it up on amazon. How long do you think that this can feed 12 cichlids (under 3inches) 3 clowns (under 3in) and one 4 inch pleco??? Will be using cichlid gold sinking size small.

i just got a severum over a case of ick. i raised the temp to 88 (hot i know) but it worked, added a little extra aquarium salt then directed, did 25% water changes daily and its mostly cleared up now. just keep repeating those steps until its gone. it took mine a little over a week but my little guy is happy.

you need to add alot more than 3 tablespoons.... Add 10 tablespoons every 12 hours 3 times and you should be good.
