Is it missing the black dorsal strip? I can't tell from the pic.

He has one just on the front of the fin. ... It reminds me of a Mohawk.

Hard to tell if its pure or not. If youre interested in breeding, I would source labs from a quality vendor. If you're going all male or have no desire to keep fry then he's perfectly fine to keep.

Thank you james99. I will see what I can find. It looks like I am leaning in the direction of a male female tank. I know it will not be as colorful but I think I will get more joy from it.
Now it looks like I need to find

I have a 180 with mixed peacocks (breeds and M/F's) in it, and usually don't have an aggression problem. But then there are the times when the Betta will test the Alpha and there is a heck of a battle and someone has to be pulled out, just had to do that about a month ago. The strange part is that they do not look alike at all, one is mainly blue and the other was pink/orange colors.
