I feel like I really need to get that half of the tank lighted very well. My electric bill is 450 a month so I dont want to add many watts to this tank for the Anubias.
These lights seems pretty cool anybody know if the lighst would look great and take care of those Anubias or maybe recommend another style of light in the low wattage range. Thanks in advance everybody appreciate it.

Thanks so I was at my LFS today and ended up buying a used 48" Current metal halide light fixture with 4 slim bulbs and 2 Halogen lights.
I am not gonna be using both Halogens (250 watts) each at this time because of electric concerns but think I might try and get 1 of them for a few hours a day to really kick my plants up a notch.
Thing is the 48" slim bulbs have a slight blue tint to them. I wanted to ask does anybody know if the blue light is still good for plants?
I feel the PAR data for everything is nice since it has 4 bulbs and when I have 1 Halogen 250 watt light going that would be even better.
Anybody have any idea how much these Current Light fixtures are worth, I got 3 of them all 48" with 2 halogen bulbs and 4 slim long bulbs all working great?

Thats some serious light! Might want different bulbs though. The plants can use some of that light but they would do much better with a color near 6500k

Thanks man I was thinking if I just leave the lights on all the time would that help out the situation and my Aba Aba is not tripping that much on the lights?

blue light will grow you a ton of algae, so get different bulbs
+1 light has similar output in different spectrum, 10k blue is just as intense as "white" light, just less light in the right spectrum that the plants can use so more light for algae to bloom in. Thats my understanding atleast, and im certainly not an expert but have done a fair amount of research into lighting planted tanks

Thanks guys.

So if I keep these bulbs since I don't mind growing a bunch of Algae in this tank will the Anubias still be able to grow fine?

I don't want to have to buy any bulbs.

Honestly, I wouldn't risk it.

Anubias gets chocked out by algae easily as it is and growing algae would potentially kill the anubias, not to mention the improper wavelength wouldn't help the anubias grow.

Honestly, research how to light an aquarium with plants. If this batch doesn't work for you then wait until you understand how to grow plants before buying more.

Some plants could out compete algae for nutrients but not anubias. It grows too slowly and will become covered in algae and slowly wither away unless you constantly clean the qhole plant which is impractical.
