i hope his tank wasn't a bowl like your avatar pic
maybe to find reason for your mass murder of this species. You should first learn how to properly raise one.

What size and species of each arowana lost.
What size and type tank of each attempt when aro was lost?
What was the filtration on these tanks?
What was diet of each arowana?
What was water change schedule, pH and was a de-chlorinator used?
Any of the arowana with tankmates?

I have 5 aros, got them at 4" and now almost 15" in 450gallon tank
Here is what I did,

Aros are very sensitive with water condition and temp. For them to feast on the food given, the temp of the water has to be higher at 85-88 degree as during the cold seasons the tend to eat less.
Try adding black water for water changes and a little bit of salt. This will promotes more natural enviroment for them.
Good luck

Well, he's eating the sticks. He won't stuff himself like w/the crickets, but he does appear to like them. I have tank mates for him now. (future food) I've had them a long time, so I'm pretty sure they are disease free. Some bottom feeders, and a few small angels. The tank seems too empty with just an Igor. I made a short video with the iphone I'll post it when I get a few minutes. Very busy lately.
