Well if it is a silicate issue it will eventually go away on its own. There is no way to tell how long it will take though. The diatoms need to eat all of the silicate up, and then they will die off

If your tapwater is high in silicates like mine it will get thru the RO/DI unit - I found this out myself the hard way even use a 1 micron element - added a silica buster + chamber before the DI and now no issues.

Arent high silicates a human health issue? Like nitrite? Tap water cant contain nitrite because it causes birth defects

Silicate particles are a health hazard for your lungs if you breath it in but in water it only takes small amounts to fuel diatoms - liquid nitrate is different in large doses it can cause birth defects and cancer - US regs redline nitrate in tapwater at 7 ppm normally it is like 4 ppm or lower.
