Ghost shrimp may breed but won’t release viable fry in freshwater…they need brackish water.
I collect ghost shrimp, locals also call them "glass shrimp" or "grass shrimp", from several local water bodies, none of which are connected to salt or brackish water, being several hundred miles from the nearest ocean. I realize that there are many species of "Ghost Shrimp" (Palaemonetes sp.) but I assure you that at least several species live their entire lives, and reproduce, in fresh water.

I’m sure you’re right but I’m talking about the feeder shrimp commercially sold as “ghost shrimp”

The male likes spending time in the Java Fern. The female prefers the Anubius.
