cons firemouths even jack dempsys got to do something with them cons breed like mad and nobody wants to buy them so yes there eazy feeders most people prefer them over feeder goldfish because they often cary less disease and people can raise them for cheap but yah sure but when there about 2-3'' or bigger they will have spines that can get stuck in the mouth of the fish your feeding them to so you should trim them
thanks....i am thinking about setting up an old 30 gallon i got in the garage for a convict breeding tank....only to feed my dovii and pike...haha
i did for a short time until the babires stopped getting eaten. got tired of fishing out little cons
i have never breed fish either...i gave a female jag to my neighbor, who had a male jag, and they breed..... so i have wanted to do it myself ever since then

Once I dropped a little tiny convict fry into a tank with 11 festae less than one inch. A festae about half an inch long swallowed it whole! Little monsters. My cons currently have about 50 fry who will meet a similar end.
