There is a trend amongst breeders to specialise in breeding exquisite varieties and species, like the many varieties of discus, gold fish and guppy, and the endangered species such as Siamese tiger fish, long-fin pangasius and dragon fish. For marine aquarium fish, there are more than one hundred native species, mostly caught from the sea in Phuket and Rayong province. Many of marine fish are imported from Philippines, Indonesia, Red Sea country, USA. and Australia. .

Surely importing Dats in such large numbers is going to have an effect on the wild stocks.
Maybe, there were thousand upon thousands sent around the world

Well, if that was true, we would see them every year around the same time. I havent seen indo dats for years, at least the 1"ers
well i saw 1inch indos for sale last year and the year before was you even looking for 1inch indos this time last year

but more 1inchers for sale just shows that that the over fishing has had a impact as their are not as many 5inchers for sale showing thir is not much wild stock from last years brood

i have been into TIGERS for years and seen how the intrest has grown over the last 1-2yrs

2yrs ago you were very lucky to see any NGT the market has be flooded with them this year

ive seen or been offered small indo's year on year here but never bought them due to the size of my other fish.
ive been constantly looking for datnoids for the last 3-4 years and seen the other species start to be more available at bigger sizes too but indos were always around.
