I have a super red/red streaked severum as well as a gold severum. Both are males. I never recommend keeping two severums in a tank in the case of one being a male and the other a female. If they become a breeding pair, they can become hyper aggressive and take over your tank killing tankmates.

Interesting to hear this as I haven't heard anyone refer to their breeding behavior as super aggressive. I am planning on a breeding pair for my office tank but they would be the only inhabitants.
A few years ago I had the mouth-brooding devs,forgot the name.I just added a small gold sev.to my 90 SA tank.I like severums attitude,they dont seem to start trouble,and are tough enough to hold their own
Awesome pics! Can someone post some super red severums? I think I've seen some that are really, really red.
They look awesome. I noticed some of the Reds seem to have white under their chin while others lack the feature. Is this genetics or sexual dimorphism?
I love severum, They have size but aren't to aggressive colors are outstanding. I have 1 green and one red spotted. My toughest fish is a baby green severem. Rescued from a butterkofferi tank. Put her in my 75 with much larger fish and she just hung out in the middle looking at me. Not afraid of anything.
