I can't see a ray drowning an FRT, he'd have to sit on him for an hour or more...I'd worry more about the turtle getting stung...

Try at your own risk!
It happened to another MOD here years ago. :(

It really depends on the age/size of your FRT. Once Herbs hit about 4" shell diameter she started adding fish to the menu. Now at well over 10", I don't really 'trust' her with fish. Its more of an agreement. . .hahaha. I keep her plump on other foods, and she doesn't bother my other fish.

Like Oddball stated, they are QUITE capable of catching and eating fish.

I really wouldn't try it, mainly because of the risk factor.

I have kept soft shell turtles before and I know how they act. They seem a lot more aggressive then what I have read about FRT's. Not sure if I will get one or not but I will still keep the idea in the back of my head. How big do they usually get?

I keep mine with a motoro in a 180. There also a 14" Jardini, 10" L330 & 10" L190.
Never had a problem. Everyone just keeps to themselves

I'm sitting here looking at mine, he's sitting on the bottom and hasn't come up in 3 hours. Only thing I can think of is the metabolic rate/oxygen consumption difference must be the cause, resting Vs panicked and ray-smothering respectively.

^ I was thinking the same thing. A stressed out FRT being pinned down might require much more o2 than one relaxing on the bottom of a tank along with differences in o2 levels within the water...
