goldfish are not good to feed your gar because on the farms were they raise them they use a lot of copper to treat them for all kinds of disease and it builds up in there system so the more they eat the more copper builds up in your, at some point it becomes toxic and will shorten the life of your fish any fish, so I would try to get him to eat dried krill,Tiliapia cut into slices and I just had good luck feeding Hikari Jumbo carnisticks. You also can try putting some Kent Garlic extract on the food,it worked for me Good luck Noel
