I do the exact same thing as S skjl47 and I even go a step further and hook them up to a controller. My concern is more of the heater staying on since this will kill fish much, much quicker.

Jaws i will recomend Schego Titanium heater + Schego 1000w controler.
TOP QUALITY FROM GERMANY. Extra safety.
Saltwater guys use this one alot in extra expensive aquarium's.
Look online on other forums. You can't find 1 disslike. This tell you 1000 words...
Nice display. Great option's. Super easy to set up.
Price is fair but not cheap.
Best heater right now. I'm using only this.
