sorry to say but thats def not a protomelas sp. like said before it looks like an aul jacob but cant tell if it may be a aul maylandi but keep in mind maylandi have a less narrow head structure while jacobs are more narrow. hope that helps.
Yeah that is what mine is "sulferhead" I think that is what they refer to as a "apache peacock" with the orange or yellow mohawk. Just showing him what his fish will resemble if it is what they said it was.
Your fish is not Aulonocara maylandi. The dorsal is too colored with blue striations and not enough white to the edge of the dorsal to be that of A. maylandi. Not to mention the "horizontal spots" or "dashes" on the side of the body that Aulonocara sp. do not have. That is a trait of other Hap species, particularly Protomelas and Copadichromis.
