I found arttyfish's thread and video. I'm SOLD! Ordering 3 and if they work out I'm selling all my metal halides and putting these on all my fish only display tanks. That will take my 220g from 450w down to 36w; and the 180g from 190w to 36w.
Thanks!
Danger Chicken, make sure you order the bright white 6000K spectrum LED Modules. The other cool white or soft white looks ugly yellow. So be 100% sure you order the 6000K version!!! I'm glad to have started the LED light revolution from a fixture I found at a Burlingame LED wholesalers Warehouse.

I don't think you've started the "LED light revolution" but your thread and research has certainly been helpful. I've been considering LED for quite a while now, just have kind of been waiting around to see what prices would drop to and what sorts of options there would be.

I'm going to be really excited when LED finally gets low enough in price to easily do high light planted and coral applications without flinching when I go to grab my wallet. In 10 years LED is probably going to be cheap as dirt.

The Marineland double brights are not bright enough. I cannot imagine the single brights. My Tank is 30" deep and the Marineland double bright is barely a night light. here is a pic of my setup in progress. One marineland double bright resting on the glass. One ecoxotic Module ( the best!!!!) and 4 sets of Tru Lumen moonlights which also blow away the power of the Marineland. excuse the wiring. until i know the final placement of the modules (once I get more) I do not want to commmit to placing wires. The hanging lights sound like a great option for some......I needed everything in my canopy!

You will notice the glow on the top where the Ecoxotic module is. I will have another module in a week or two. The tank has very natural lighting right now but needs more!

I'm a bit confused, are any of those pictures of JUST the double bright running?
Nope. The double bright by itself barely lights the tank at all.

Here are some with just the double bright and three sets of moonlights....two white and one blue.....this shows the massive difference from just one Ecoxotic module!!!
