Its a she, not a he. Majority of eels caught in freshwater are females. They won't have any issues to live anywhere from icy trout lakes to dirtiest city ponds.
I'm going to go with yellow bullhead as well, I meant to come back and mention that it would be rather unusual to find stone cats in the conditions you mentioned at the beginning. I have a sweet little yellow i caught last spring in inland NC. He is a feisty little bugger, here is a video of him eating from the surface...Thanks for the input! They'll fit right in my 265. I'd put them in now, but my eel will eat them. Or my other bullhead will. :/ Will let them grow out in the 75 for a while.
I'd read that as well but resorted to calling it a him. I guess her name "Sushi" works either way! I'm definitely certain she could live in pure nuclear waste and be happy. Thx for all the input. Its a she, not a he. Majority of eels caught in freshwater are females. They won't have any issues to live anywhere from icy trout lakes to dirtiest city ponds.
Awesome vids! They're like garbage disposals with whiskers.I'm going to go with yellow bullhead as well, I meant to come back and mention that it would be rather unusual to find stone cats in the conditions you mentioned at the beginning. Yeah most of them are, mine however is not. He'll only eat food that's in front of his cave and if he gets tired of a certain kind of food I have to feed him something else otherwise he literally inhales all the food then takes it somewhere away from his cave and projectile launches it from his mouth.Awesome vids! My big one is lazy sometimes too... won't come out hunting, but will take food that hits him in the head. I've always given them a crazy variety of food though so I don't know if they'd tire of a certain diet. Mine get worms, shiners, bugs, lake smelt, beef hearts, you name it.Yeah most of them are, mine however is not. However my 3 little 2.5" juveniles in a 10 gallon will hand and surface feed.
