I have at least 300 of these in my 10 gallon, I always seed tanks with these guys when first starting them, especially since I A) love my planted tanks, and B) love my dirted tanks.
I like how they help eat leftover food (I have a tendency to overfeed) and I like how they help aerate the substrate by digging through it gently.
In fact, the only thing I don't like about these guys is that, even when I toss 100 of them in at a single time, I can't get them to establish in my 75.....AGH
I want to try out the spiky ones eventually though, just because.
