Male or female festae?

The pictures are so blurry I cant tell how much spangles it has.

How is it behaving with those stripes? Ae the stripes there all the time? Video?



a fish like this you need to look closer.

this is the black dorsal you wanna see. There's stripes side and there's female blotch side. They are different.

How confident are you with the venting. If vent is male and if it got good spangles then it should be male.

The way I tell gender with festae is, if the tail has blue spanglings, and the dorsal fin is not black, it's a male and vise versa.
I wouldn't use spangles as an indicator as my female had tons of blue spangles up till she was about 4.5".

I'd go by the venting myself. Hard to tell by the pics.

Oh the tail does has blue spangle. With solid black dorsal. The venting tells me male. Vent has 2 small hole. But face structure looks male as well. Just the black dorsal throws me off.

I would stick to your guns and stay with male:) vents are what they are whereas looks can be deceiving:)
