You can put the lionfish in at any time Ive done that and Ive never had any probs putting an adult lion in a tank of monsters. The fish are a little smarter than you might think. But on the other ones start young and take you time. Ill try to get you a list of badass fish you can then add later.

Do you want fighters or eaters, if eaters try inshore lizard fish, fast ambush predators that dart up from the bottom and eat fair size fish, triggers are fighters, they harrass other fish to death like puffers will. according to the books the worst thing to stick in with a trigger is another trigger.
