I would get a golden tail moray. They will get around 9-16 inches but most will get a foot. They are a nice looking fish and shouldn't bother the grouper as long as he is big enough.
yeah probably ya best bet if you want something you can still feed the odd damsel or feeder but wont hurt any of your other fish you want to keep alive.
