. If you haven't set up an area for plants in your room yet, or even chosen any, one thing I'd do before even starting out is getting a feel for temperature and humidity levels in your room first.
Also take into consideration ambient natural light levels. Once you have a handle on these things you can pick plants which are going to do well in your conditions.
You can of course alter all three with heaters, humidifiers and lights....at cost! Something for you to consider before starting out on your plant journey.
