several suckers,stonerollers, 3-4 trout, kokanee, pupfish, sticklebacks, freshwater sculpin, black madtoms, greyliing, topminnows, etc.

Great stuff. Years ago I kept a "local" tank with some nice pan fish. Bluegill, Perch, Bass... Good fun. Nice markings and entertaining to keep.
Nothing compares, in my mind, to the Snakeheads though. Something about waking up for work at 4 and seeing that brown ? on the floor only to realize it is a fish and its just chillin'. Good times.

centrarchids are north american cichlids. i dont understand why more people dont keep them.

They probably don't have the "mystique" of the flashier imported ones.
