Found a couple of peppers with holes and started looking for who was coming in for a free meal. No worms, no signs of any normal pest. Just turned on the porch light to let the dogs out and looked just in time to see a rat climbing out if the pepper plant. I hate rats.

According to my grandma, mothballs in a can/box will keep rats away. Have never tried it myself, but she never had a rat or mouse problem in her house.
