5 of the 7 N. Amer marine turtle species have been reported in canadian waters. If these hit the market, they would not be imports. They'd be locally-collected. The green, however, would be the only species to not require a hard-to-get varied diet.

The fish store is in China, I guess they don't have much regulation about sea turtles.

It doesn't seem as if they regulate anything over there...looks like someone collected a whole nest of babies.God forbid they become popular to eat.

Sea Turtles are SUPER illegal globally, if your friend gets caught he's going to jail

Just checked. ALL sea turtle species are CITES appendix I and cannot so much as be harassed in their natural environment. Those turtles, in China, were illegally smuggled.

they already are, going back to Christopher Columbus days . hell my dad ate them in turtle soup in Egypt back in 49 or so. i am sure they not all leather backs.
